I think OP is correct as CIR will not pass this year. Remember Mr bush took advantage 8 years ago and won election. Even he may knew that it will not pass. Same way Raid may know that it may not pass but what is wrong to take advantage of pushing CIR. Even if it doesnot pass or introduced he may win because Hispanic will think if he wins he may bring CIR for sure.
Now in near future Mr President does not have any benefit of CIR unless he runs for next term. So for him delayed CIR is good. till 2011. So it may be win-win for both. Raid will make a vocal for it now and will win election and OBAMA will keep silence and make attempt in 2011. If passes or not he may win election again.
Only catch is if hispanic people think that Replicans didnot help them and now dems not going to help again so they may not give vote to Dems as punishment and that may hurt.

Hi,
I saw immigrationvioce discussions on immigrationportal.com and decided to visit the site to obtain additional information regarding the community. I was trying to find a bullet-point list of immigration voice goals/priorities, however i did not find one.
I am not sure if I missed it or it just does not exist. If it does not exist, maybe it is a good idea to publish the list in the "about us" section or in the FAQ sections. I noticed that there was some info available in the about us section, however it was quite generic.
What I was thinking is that it would be a good idea to publish short-term and long term goals in a fairly detailed format, for example:
Short term:
1) Fight name check delays:
1a. educate the congress about name check delays
1b. ask the congress to implement service requrements for name check processing (i.e. 6 months completion for X%, respond to name check inquiry for name check pending for more than 6 months within Y days/weeks, etc)
2) Fight retrogression:
2a. Educate the congress about restogression
2b. Ask the congress to re-capture unsused visa numbers
2c. Increase visa allocation for EB categories
I think that such information would be good for new/potential members.

Hello,
I have a baby in US. We have applied for birth certificate and ssn. we plan to travel to india in December. I plan to apply for US passport once i receive DOB and ssn certificates. I have following Q's -
If baby has to travel to india, do i need PIO or OCI?
What is difference b/w two?
Can i simultanesously apply for PIO/OCI along with US passport?
What documents would I need to apply PIO/OCI along and US passport?
How long does everything take?

Honestly how many points we score really does not matter if the visa country cap is too low. Most of us, coming from India, China etc. score almost the same points and getting TOEFL is a piece of cake if you need to improve your points.
It's pointless to break our heads calculating these points, everything is in limbo right now and the only best advise for new GC aspirants especially those coming from retrogressed countries is "Get your priority date locked by applying LC under the old system".

I'll take a run at it. Just opened the shadows and added a touch of saturation, mainly to put more punch in the sky so it will stand up to the heavy, cold mountains. I like the shot but can appreciate it's not what you saw. In a shot such as this, I would have tried either using a graduated ND filter so you could give more exposure to the rocks, or shoot two frames, one exposed for the sky and one for the rocks, then sandwich them together. Did you get other shots later during the sunrise, where there is some light on the rocks?

If you get laid off, find a company at a rate that will meet your minimum LCA wages requirement for H1B (W2) or EAD (I will approximate the wages mentioned in labor document). I think you have 30 days of buffer, but I will find something right away.

I have applied EAD/AP renewals last April 22nd and got the receipts in 2weeks and today got CRIS email "Card Production Ordered" from TSC..so may be in 30days it should be on hand...Our's also expires in August...
It sounds like they are processing fast..dont panic keep hope!! Give it some time..

Its been 30 days since my AP was mailed to me as per USCIS notification and I have not yet received it, but on other hand we receiver my wifes AP with in 3 days of approval.
Can you guys suggest if I have to wait little longer or assume its lost in mail and apply for new one.
Did any one on this forum experience more than 30 days to receive there AP since document mailed notification from USCIS.
I would appreciate your suggestions/comment.

I have just joined this forum and collected my D70 last night. Used for the first time tonight took about 200 photo's with my SB-80DX flash.
I had to use camera on A or S priority with flash set on Auto. Quite a backward step after TTL metering with the F100.
The only Nikon flashes which provide full interaction with the D70 are the SB-800 & SB-600. Only these provide auto zoom head function, ISO from camera and TTL metering.
